About

Philip Nelson has been involved in various forms of ministry since 2008. He has served as a missionary, minister, and member of the military. His passion is helping people understand the Scriptures and know the God who transformed him!

After completing his Bachelors of Christian Ministry at Ozark Christian College – and a number of years volunteering in teaching roles in local churches – he and his wife, Leah, moved to Kenya, East Africa as missionaries with the goal of providing training for church leaders. While there, he completed his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies through the Nairobi Evangelical School of Theology.

Upon returning to America, he and his wife continued their education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He enlisted as Medic, and later commissioned as a Chaplain in the Air National Guard. While continuing to teach in volunteer roles in a local church, Philip worked as a Director at a residential recovery center in Shelbyville, KY.

In 2021, the Lord opened a door for ministry in North Dakota, where he currently serves as a minister in a local church while also producing online content to establish, equip, and encourage believers in the Scriptures and their walk with God.

Byte-Size Theology

Byte-Size Theology started off as a crazy idea while Philip was driving across the country to military training. Scratching a few ideas down in a notebook, and a few phone calls later – with the encouragement of a few friends – the framework for the content was drafted on paper. But as with most great ideas, it was set aside as life happened.

However, the project was like a pebble in Philip’s shoe, always present and demanding some measure of thought. When his family moved to North Dakota, the opportunity arose, and it did not take long for the idea to move from concept to reality.

The goal of Byte-Size Theology is to provide easy to understand content for listeners and viewers that establishes them in their faith, equips them for ministry, and encourages them in their daily walk with God. So many people inform their understanding of the world around them through what they consume on social media. Byte-Size Theology seeks to inject a few moments of Biblical sanity into the chaos of competing voices.

You can expect to find content that is Bible-based, Christ-focused, and applicational in intent. We hope you are blessed in some measure by the labor in the Scriptures – and even more so, we hope that you grow in your walk with God!
